Located in one of the historic Outbuildings at Lanyon Homestead, The Lanyon Café offers Modern Colonial cuisine in the picturesque surrounds of Lanyon. The Lanyon Café is open 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 4pm Sundays and 6.30pm to 10.30pm Thursday to Saturday(by bookings only) Wedding Ceremonys, Receptions, and Catering for corporate functions are also available through the Lanyon Café. Contact proprietor, Owen Brennan for information. With every item prepared fresh in our kitchen, the focus remains on providing guests with the finest, freshest foods available. This culinary tour through Australian history focused on food, architecture and design, provided the inspiration for what the cafe/restaurant was destined to become.
Lanyon Cafe defines a new category in dining, that of the upscale casual restaurant. Lanyon Cafe provides our guests with an escape from the ordinary, the inviting fires in the dining rooms are perfect for a cosy party of two or functions for up to 44 people, the Marquee holds up to 118 people. There is also a number or wooden picnic tables on the lawn overlooking the Brindabella Mountains and the rural property. Private dining and conference facilities for parties and events are also available at Lanyon. It is also a perfect setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Lanyon Homestead is a prestigious heritage site in Canberra, nestled in the Lanyon Valley along the Murrumbidgee River. The historic precinct dates from the 1830s and offers tranquil surrounds. The cafe menu has a combination of salads, traditional roasts, warming soups and a Grazing plate of corned and pickled meats, marinated vegetables and chutneys. The cafe has created a following amongst locals and visitors in Canberra. Enjoy dining outside viewing the Brindabella Mountains or reserve a table inside that offers a warm and cosy atmosphere. People find the cafe has a perfect atmosphere for entertaining. The glorious gardens are available for hire for your wedding ceremony, each area has its own distinctive style. For your reception or party the Marquee offers a brilliant festive atmosphere.
